Hi all,
Got a lovely mail from an uncle, who helped reach a decision with 2 States. See the actual mail below ( some actual details hidden). Made my day. Who said books don’t make a difference?
Love,
Chetan

Dear Chetan,
My family and myself have always been your fan from the time I laid my hands on your first novel.I have not only read them but also gifted them to my customers(I am a restaurateur) and relatives. This last book of yours namely 2 states appears as though its my family story.
I am a punjabi sharma and my daughter has fallen in love with a keralite boy(have to mention boy because now our constitution allows lesbain marriages too). I will be insulting Punjabi blood if I deny the protest drama that took place. The protest was followed by an angioplasty on me. This too did not deter the love birds. All this happened in October 2008.
Now the marriage is slated for 21st December 2009. The boy is a Lieutanant with Indian navy. Your book has acted as balm to my deliberately delayed decision.I now have no regrets.
I have planned to gift your book to my invitees on the wedding night.I hope your publisher would consider to erect a small kiosk and you would honour me by gracing the occassion.
Please consider this as a personal invitation.
Date 21st December 2009. Time Marriage ceremony 10.30 a.m (Keralite style}
Reception Punjabi Style 8.00pm onwards.

I liked the sarcasm in the book “2 states”…hopefully u will continue writing the way u do… liked ur book a lot.
Hi
I am a big fan of your books. I just finished reading 2 States; I have a small feedback on time line of story, as it oscillating between different years in middle of book, say dot com collapse happen around june/ july 2000, and in your book it seems to appear a year back because CSC (Concert Steering Committee) is formed after dotcom collapse and main character actually recommending his future mother is law songs from kaho na pyaar hain which happen to release in jan 2000. Also in year 2000 mobile charges are not equivalent to 1 litre petrol
. He he he. I know I am quite critical but still one of your biggest fan.
Thanks and waiting for more ..
Chetan
Well your 2 states was a bit too late to make a difference in my life – but thank you for writing it! really enjoyed reading it. Liked the fact that it had an ending (a happy one that too), unlike the hollywood style ending in 5 point someone, that made me feel uncomfortable that there was no closure to the book! Guess we feel good indians are used to a happy ending always.
cheers,
apoorva
Hi Chetan,
This novel is awsome! I just completed reading it and I think it was very Hilarious.
This is the type of literature that can really make a difference (ready the Punjabi uncle’s letter too).
Cheers.
Hi Chetan,
I was feeling quite heavy after attending a love marriage of my close cousin sister. I had a wait listed train ticket, and knew i was going to be awake all night in train. Needless to say your book provided an excellent company and a fresh perspective.
Thanks for a wonderful read.
Sunil

All the Best!
hi chetan,
Your 2 states was mind blowing,it just propelled me to finish it off at one sort, though the job was tough but still i was bound to hold the book till i reached the last page, what mesmerizes me in most of your releases is the kind humor which is reflected in every page and i am using “reflected” because i feel like enjoying the whole scenario in front of me.
All the best
Dear Chetan,
I have recently Finished your “Two States” no use to say that you had done awesome work again. One thing I wanna tell about your writing style is that I had never been in an IIT, never worked in a Call center nor even love a girl who belongs to any other state but still I found myself in every book of yours.
I don’t Know the reason but hoping an answer from you. Please Do reply !!!!!
Waiting
THANKS TO ALL YOUR EFFORTS YOU HAD GIVEN IN EXECUTION THESE BOOKS WHICH ARE MORE INTERESTING, REAL AND ENERGETIC THEN ANY HOLLYWOOD AND BOLLYWOOD MOVIES.
Hi Chetan,
A Q and a request?
Q. Which number is going to be first word of your next book?
and
Can you please write a book for couples who are deeply in love but astronomically a mismatch.
A Manglik in love with a non Manglik.
or
A Manushya in Love with a Rakhshasa (I just came to know I am a rakshasa yesterday)
My first book from you was one nite @ call centre, and my instinct was to prove you wrong.. I actually thought that now a writer is added to BPO hating faternity. In fact I even wrote two chapters of “A nite outside call centre: When I called GOD”.
.
No price for guessing, it did not went beyond first few chapters. M too lazy..
But even at dat time, I liked your style of writing. Natural Humour, written without the worries of being thought as pervert, yet good enuf to be approved my most conservative.
We share same dream, and I am happy your has come true. I also want to quit job sometime and start writing. 2 CHallanges though..
1. I am not as better placed as you were..
2. I am what u call an E2.
Blog that I have mentioned is updated once every 6 months.. but it would be nice if u visit and let me know what u think of it..

It is very interesting book. I like all your room.
hi chetan
2 states was hilarious, though sarcastic every bit..it questioned the prejudices, hypocrisy around us.
i already started imagining it being made a movie and the hero Ranbir kapoor ,herion Asin director…my fav Mani ratnam…
p.s I would suggest u expunge the dirty words in tamil as
mentioned by the cook in the marriage hall once the boy’s dont have food to eat..
it just doesnot gel with the decorum of the book
i m sure ur wife anuja too woudl agree with this..
cook of marriage in the novel
hello,
I am Garima, studying in Ryan International School.
firstly I would like to say that you are superb writter. You make the stories so realistic. I always enjoy reading your book. Now a days i am half done with TWO STATES, but what i have read… its just awesome,.. mindblowing… I must say…!!
i m always waiting for new book of yours..
now i would like you to write a book on PROBLEMS FACE BY ADOLENCES/TEENAGERS IN RESPECT TO THEIR PARENTS- as parents care for them alot and their caring is supressing teenagers freedom and liberty which sometimes lead to feelings of hatred in them.
thank you.
keep writing..
yours
Garima:)
Hi Chetan, An excellent book from you again. Thanks. I don’t know if I can say so after reading the earlier comments. It was some sort of a melodramatic towards the end. Probably you made it so for pep or may be true as our whole life, at times, is melodramatic. But as a tamilian, i was shocked to see the open “ghalias” in the book by autowallah and cook. Come on Chetan, no autowallah/cook mouthes such words unless you really provoke them for other reasons. The one I enjoy in all your books is the subtle humour spread throughout, even in serious situations. That makes reading joyable. Thanks once again. Expecting much more wonderful books from you.
Hi,
This is Aritra….Who would like to take this opportunity to share
