    hi Chetan,
I must say 2 states is awesome….i found this book to be very interesting, there is a reason behind it…i am a Non South Indian (currently in Delhi) who spend 3 yrs of his life in chennai….so i was able to visualize the things very clearly….some of the incident which has been written in the book actually happened with me also i.e. fight with autowalas….
Best wishes to you for your new book “2 states”

    Hi Chetan,

I finished reading 2 States 3 times in a row, back to back :D You are a wonderful, witty and warm writer, who pens magic with his words! Though I have read and loved all your previous works, I think this latest one is going to be my all time favourite…not just because it is your best work till now, but also because, being a Tamil Brahmin married to a North Indian (a Banker to boot and if this coincidence wasn’t strange enough, we too are settled in Hongkong, just like you and Anusha were!), there were so many instances and incidents in the book that I could relate to! And trust me, there was a constant grin on my face throughout…even though most of your punchlines were on the Tam Brahm Communit!!! Please keep writing and all the best for dealing with your in-laws after they have read your latest work :D God bless you!

    Hi Chetan,

I finished reading your latest book “2 States” and quite liked it. It has Charishma of your first book “5 Point …”, its easy to guess that its based on your personal experiences. I liked your first book most, though was not very impressed with “3 Mistakes”. Your storytelling is great but there is a room for improvement in characterization. And as Mrinal mentioned, you should really work on the ending of your future books. Though ending of “2 States” is decent, but ending of “1 night..” and “3 mistakes” were quite abrupt and unconvincing.
“2 States” is a wonderful read with lots of humour and a very good message. A must read. Great work !!
Whats the secret behind having books titles starting with Numbers ;-) ?
    Regards,
    Amit Gupta

Hey chetan .. just as the rest of these guys below, I’m a great fan of your books.
I’m not so good with words and I don’t want to sound like a wannabe .. so let me just put it this way – You are the person who inspired me to read novels (Seriously!). I know I share the same story with soooo many guys throughout India and I sincerely thank you for that.

The one thing I love about your novels is how well they relate to the lives of common man and the problems they face. Every novel of yours leaves an imprint in the reader’s mind, which he will always remember.

I haven’t read ‘2 states’ yet .. I got a lot of expectations from it though. I hope it will be as good as the rest of your novels.

But what happened to Hari and Neha? This question will always haunt me ! :(

Anyway, keep up the good work!
My sincere wishes to you and your family.

    Shreyas.

    hi

i would like to be frank….
After FPS, i had expected a lot from your books, but the two after that were ok by the standards that you had set.

But 2states brings you back on track of a indian story teller.

    Sanal.

  15. Dheeraj says:

I am an ardent fan of yours.I have read 5 . some1 , 3 mistakes of my life and now reading 2 states.

One thing which I would like to ask is ” what is the change which you have brought thru the 4 books which you wrote?”

The msg which I cud think of frm 5 . some1 is ” Dont study like that in IIT ” from 3 mistakes of my life ” Love your friends” — what changes you were really trying to bring up thru these 2 books??

Books which I have read of urs were all awesome reads. After started reading 2 states, My eyes have started looking for ‘Ananya’ in office cafeteria and even when I am riding my bike (but whatz the point?) . I miss the way those lovers were missing each other. Yesterday I read till 2am, by today eve am going to finish it off :p

Thanks for making me read like this.

    Hi,

Read ‘ 2 states’ recently. Quite humourous first 100 pages.Overall the novel was fun.Really its quite tough to compromise these days, with adamant independent and successful youngsters.People generally take the easy way out, not bothering to make everyone happy.Yours story is really incredible.

‘ IIT & IIM ‘ – Why so much stress on these words ? You hv used it atleast 5000 times. Gone are the days when you need to be from these institues to make it big. Making it big is not bigger a deal
now. In BPO , the VPs earn 25-50 lacs and they are simple graduates from lesser colleges.Things have changed a lot.

Moreover, most of the IITs spend their lifetime doing nothing and just bragging about IIT. Look at urself, you wasted 1 seat in IIT and 1 seat in IIM to become a writer.Investment bankers also dont require technical expertise for that matter.

Grow up & change, writer shouldn’t hv generation gap- you seem to be struck still in 1995, lot of water has passed down the bridge since.Improve you command on the language, you used the phrase ‘ my mother gave me dirty look ‘ at least 100 times.Being colloquial doesnt mean using one phrase 100 times.

You were an average student, average professional and now average writer But still achieved a lot and made it big.

    EXTREMELY LUCKY !!
