Once again, thank you so much for your support. Yesterday, I was on CNN-IBN’s Face the Nation, on a general panel discussion on the Education System. However, I used the opportunity to give a few closing remarks from my side on the issue. While we maintain our stance on the issue, me and my fans want to move on, and we have.

PS: This is only for the extra-curious types. While totally not obligated to answer any more allegations, just to clarify on the RH video – no I wasn’t given the script. A top level oral narration is something else and anybody in the film industry will tell you is very different from actually giving the written script. Notice they keep saying he has ‘heard’ the script, not ‘read’ it. In the oral narration, they told me the changes only. Please also note NDA he flashes which has a date of Oct 3, 2007, the so-called narration date. The adaptation deal was done in September 2005. Raju said it took Abhijat ‘3 yrs and 2 months’ to do the script in other interviews. Hence, even if Abhijat started on the deal date, the script was finished in November 2008. So, how could RH narrate it to me in Oct 2007? Go figure. Also, please listen to my full Bollywood Hungama interview they are quoting from, I maintain that my story is the base. Anyway, what matters is the final film vs book. Also, they did not buy rights of the book – they bought the rights to adapt the book – a basic error they continue to make – whether out of lack of knowledge or to evade the issue. And yes there is a contract to adapt the work – but it doesn’t mean they can claim authorship of the story. You can buy a painting, not claim you painted it – basic copyright law. My points are valid, and I am not a liar. Anyway, like I said, we’ve moved on.

Please continue the GR8 work…I really wish we have 10 more Chetan Bhagat ( I knw it is not possible) so let ur books and work reach across the Nation and then across the Globe…

I am a admirer of your work and have been following this issue since start. I support you wholeheartedly and really my respect and admiration for Aamir Khan has come down a notch after this. I didn’t expect him to support his producers blindly even without reading the book.
Same for Raju Hirani.
They shouldn’t have claimed the credit for original story when the screenplay is adapted in the first place.
But the only thing I don’t get is the repeated mention of awards on your part (in a video interview of yours which i saw). I don’t think that film awards should even be a slight factor in motivating you for this whole episode. I mean who gives a damn about those film awards anyways ?
Atleast my admiration for you as an author wont change a bit, no matter you get those awards or not.

If you have the guts, fight it legally. You know you do not stand a chance legally ethically or morally. All you have for your supporters are a bunch of fools who do not know what English language literature is all about and think 5 point someone is a great literature. I really feel sad for the future of the India if such works become bestsellers

I completly agree to the stand you have taken on the issue. The Credit definitely belongs to you for penning such a wonderful story. Irrespective of who says what, every1 knows the story is yours and yours only. If the Film makers, being such “important” people cannot handle the emergence of a persons creativity , it is they who will sufferin the long run.
As for you, you are alreaya darling in teh minds of the readers over teh country and there is nothin more that you ned to prove. We all love you and your writing. Kepp up the spirit and we are avidly aiting for your next writing!!!

With due respect, I would like to say that you couldn’t handle the situation. In my opinion i think both the sides are guilty for this and you should have dealt it mutually not publicly.
I would like inform all those who are questioning the legal and moral issue here… legally i know for a fact that Chretan can claim credit. and morally , its a question for who handles the situation better… One would noyt understand the pain of working on somethin with all your heart and having some1 rip it off from u unless you go through it. I competely understand what chetan felt and why the controversy has emerged…
What sense does it make to fight on a BASELESS issue with so-called ‘dignity’!! Good that u werent involved in writing of the script of 3i.. Remember what happened to ‘Hello’ where u were one of the script writers.. !! All these days before the release of 3i .., when u didnt know.. its gonna be such a big hit.. u had no problems with absolutely anything. I remember u mentioning on ur blog .. that u r busy with pre-release activities of 3i. May we know what pre-release activities u were busy with, since u had absolutely no role to play in the marketing etc of the movie.. That comment of urs was just to pretend how involved u r with 3i and gain more publicity and undue importance..
I have always been ur fan. But this stunt of urs have let many of us down..

I was a huge fan of Aamir Khan before Ghajini! After that it suddenly seems he works more for money making than for the intellectual cinema he vouches for!
